Terms of Service
Welcome to the Buckeye Golf League (the "League"). By creating an account, signing up for an event, or otherwise using this website, you agree to these terms.
1. Eligibility & conduct
You must be at least 18 years old to register. You agree to follow Ted Rhodes Golf Course rules, USGA etiquette, and the directions of the League committee at every event. The committee reserves the right to refuse service, void registrations, or remove participants for unsportsmanlike conduct.
2. Fees, refunds & participation
Wednesday and Friday scrambles cost $20 per event. Annual league membership is $40. Tournament entry fees vary by event. Greens fees, cart fees, and any food or drinks purchased at the course are separate and payable to Ted Rhodes. Entry fees are non-refundable once an event is drawn, but the committee may, at its discretion, transfer credit to a future event for weather cancellations or documented emergencies.
3. Assumption of risk
You play at your own risk. Golf carries inherent and significant risks — including but not limited to being struck by a golf ball or club, cart accidents, slips and falls, lightning and severe weather, wildlife encounters, heat- or cold-related illness, overexertion, and property damage or theft. By registering for or participating in any League event, practice round, social gathering, or related activity, you knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks, whether foreseeable or not, and you release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the Buckeye Golf League, its committee members, volunteers, sponsors, partners, and Ted Rhodes Golf Course (and their respective officers, employees, and agents) from any and all claims, demands, injuries, losses, or damages arising out of your participation, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You are responsible for your own health, fitness to play, personal equipment, and personal belongings.
4. Photography, video & media release
League events are photographed and filmed. By attending or participating, you acknowledge and agree that the League and its designees may capture photos, video, audio, drone footage, and live-stream content of players, guests, and spectators, and may edit, reproduce, publish, and distribute that content on this website, the social feed, email newsletters, event recaps, and on third-party platforms including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and X, for promotional, editorial, historical, and sponsorship purposes — without further notice, approval, compensation, or royalty. This includes your name, likeness, voice, scores, handicap, team assignment, and any quotes you provide. If you do not want to appear in League media, email buckeyegolfleague@gmail.com before the event and notify the committee on site; we'll make reasonable efforts to exclude you from posted content going forward, but we can't retract media already published.
5. Code of conduct
Play ready golf, keep pace, repair divots and ball marks, rake bunkers, and treat course staff, fellow players, and Ted Rhodes patrons with respect. Harassment, discrimination, threats, cheating, sandbagging, throwing clubs, or intoxication that disrupts play will result in removal from the event without refund and may result in a season-long ban at the committee's discretion.
6. Alcohol, smoking & outside items
Ted Rhodes Golf Course rules govern outside food, beverages, alcohol, and smoking on property. Do not bring outside alcohol. Players who choose to drink at events must do so responsibly and arrange their own transportation. The League does not serve alcohol and is not responsible for individual consumption.
7. Weather, pace of play & course conditions
Wednesday and Friday scrambles tee off at 3:00 PM CDT at Ted Rhodes Golf Course, Nashville, TN. Events proceed rain or shine unless the course closes or the committee cancels for lightning or unsafe conditions. If an event is called off before the turn, the committee may reschedule, issue credit toward a future event, or refund at its discretion. Once play has begun, entry fees are not refundable.
8. Personal property
The League is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property, including clubs, bags, phones, vehicles, and items left in carts or the clubhouse.
9. User content
Posts to the social feed, comments, profile information, and photos you upload remain yours, but you grant the League a non-exclusive license to display them on the site, in event recaps, and on League social media. Don't post anything illegal, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
10. Communications
By creating an account you agree to receive transactional and event-related emails (draws, reminders, results, weekly digests). You can unsubscribe from digests at any time via the link in any digest email. Critical account and event notices may still be sent.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee.
12. Changes
The committee may update these terms, schedules, or fees at any time. Material changes will be announced on the homepage or via email.
